TONGDANCE
Tong is an dance artist born in China lived in UK now. Her artistic experience spans both Chinese and Western cultures. She received professional training in classical ballet for 7 years in Shanghai and completed her Bachelor's degree in choreography at Beijing Dance Academy.
Starting in 2020, Tong worked as a choreographer in opera and musical theatre productions. Additionally, she participated as a dancer in the R&D stages and premieres of three commissioned works for international theatre and art festivals.
In 2022, she graduated from NSCD with a Master of Art degree with distinction. She continues to travel around the UK and Europe, exploring her works as a freelance artist.
My recent explorations in the field of dance centered around my keen interest in the concepts of the body within distinct cultures and philosophies, methodologies of theatrical elements in creation, and the deconstruction and expansion of classical ballet language.
